New Painting Project

We started a quick project this past weekend, which is painting my eldest daughters bedroom. The room is pretty small for the two twin beds we have in it, so to get everything away from the walls, we had to push everything into the middle.  I wound up finding a number of screw pops in this room that needed spackling, so between that and my son's basketball game, it wound up being a preparatory weekend.  We're planning on working the painting several evenings this week.

Vacation - check. Wood trim for dining room - check.

Well, we've solved our vacation problem.  After trying to find a beach vacation on the east coast, we changed our direction and instead have rented a waterfront camp in the Adirondacks for a week this summer.
The camp is about two and a half hours north of where we used to live.  We spent many weekends in the Adirondacks hiking and camping when we lived in New York.  We are all looking forward to returning to a place that holds a special place in our hearts.
The camp is 8 years old and comes with a canoe, row boat, and a small sailboat.

In other home improvement news, I just received the picture frame moulding for the dining room . . . All 210 feet of it.  The trim work will start in a couple of days.

Getting back to work soon

We've been sluggards round these parts lately and I haven't been doing any projects.  That's about to change however as I special ordered my trim for the dining room project.  It should be in in about a week.
Right now we're entertaining friends from NY who will be here through the weekend.  Hopefully my trim will be in by next weekend, so stop back in a week.
